Eligibility: Open to all 18+ artists residing in San Fernando Valley and Conejo Valley. 

DeFrenS is a luxury home consignment showroom nestled in Westlake Village that has recently expanded their space to include a brand new art gallery. This gallery is beautifully lit to accentuate each art piece featured. The showroom is fully staffed and open to the public Monday through Friday from 10-5pm and Saturday 11-4pm, so the gallery has 6 days of visibility to shoppers. Each exhibit includes marketing, a juror and a lovely opening reception equipped with live music and refreshments for artists to invite their collectors and debut their art in the gallery. 

DeFrenS Art Gallery is excited to host “Autumn Impressions” featuring landscape art created by local San Fernando and Conejo Valley Artists.

Golden palettes of beautiful valleys, rolling hills and mountains have inspired artists for generations. Artist’s images could include wooded paths, delicate autumn sunlight, misty lakes and fall colors of a setting sun. Fall landscapes as expressed by the imagination of valley artists. Art can be 2D mediums of watercolor, acrylic and oil paintings, ink, or multimedia. 

Selected artists will be notified by August 16th.

Terms and conditions: 

Entry fee is $35.00 and allows submission of up to 5 different works in any 2D medium that follows the guidlines. The fee will not be refunded, in part or in whole, for any reason.  In addition, the application and fee do not guarantee acceptance into the exhibit or event. 

An Artist Statement (150 words or less) is required that discusses your work. Submit one for each piece you enter. This statement will be displayed during the exhibit.

PRESENTATION:
Artwork must look professionally finished (as appropriate to the medium), and be ready for secure installation. All 2D art must be equipped with stretched WIRE attached to the back. (Sawtooth hangers are not acceptable.) Artwork that does not meet these requirements, will not be displayed. 

SALES / COMMISSION:
Works in this show may be for sale (with a stated price) or artists may select the NFS option. The DeFrenS Art Gallery commission is 50% on all sales. All art (even if sold) must remain at DeFrenS for the full duration of the exhibition. 

IMAGE USE / COPYRIGHTS:
Artist retains all copyrights to submitted images and represented artwork. Digital images submitted with artist entry are for exhibition selection only. By entering the competition, artists selected to exhibit grant DeFrenS Art Gallery rights to use the selected image(s) on printed materials and the web site for promotional purposes only. DeFrenS retains no copyrights to artists' work. 

INSURANCE 
DeFrenS will exercise reasonable care in handling and protecting all artwork, but DeFrenS will not assume any liability for loss of or damage to art while in DeFrenS's custody or during shipping. Artists are responsible to independently insure their own work. By applying to this Call and by bringing artwork to DeFrenS, the Artist / Photographer -- and any third party -- fully agree that DeFrenS Art Gallery, and its agents and employees will not be liable, and not culpable in any way, for loss or damage to the art.  

OTHER: In order to offer exhibitions at no cost to artist and public, DeFrenS is renting the gallery occasionally to third parties (renter). Usage is restricted to events that are suitable for an art gallery. Precautions are taken to keep the art work safe as necessary. The renter is responsible for any and all damages caused by his/her agents, vendors, guests or contractors.
